FreeFemmes – Artigiane per la libertà di movimento
FreeFemmes – Artisans for Freedom of Movement is a collective composed of Tunisian women and sub-Saharan migrants living in Medenine and on the Tunisian-Libyan border.
The collective dates back to 2021 when FreeFemes founded a social tailoring which still constitutes a space for social gathering, for women’s care, for the fight against borders and racism, but also a place of labour emancipation where they carry out handcrafted creations, clothing and other items with the textile materials of Tunisian and sub-Saharan African traditions.
