Rete 26 febbraio

The Rete 26 febbraio was established in the aftermath of the Steccato di Cutro (Crotone) massacre that occurred on the night of February 26, 2023 off the coast of Calabria, where at least 94 migrants (dozens missing) who were traveling on the boat Summer Love that departed from the Turkish coast of Izmir lost their lives.  

The Rete welcomes within its ranks local and national associations that have mobilized to demand justice over the massacre, the opening of safe and legal access routes for migrant people, and a European asylum policy. 

The Network promoted the first and the second Commemorations of the massacre in February 2024 and 2025 by inviting family members of the victims and survivors to the city of Crotone.
