Mohamed Keita
Born in Ivory Coast in 1993, Mohamed left his country at the age of 14 due to the civil war. He embarked on a three-year journey through Guinea, Mali, Algeria, Libya, and Malta, arriving in Italy in 2010 at 17 years old. Welcomed at the Civico Zero center for children in Rome, he discovered an innate passion for photography, marking the beginning of his artistic career. For Mohamed, photography is both a means of artistic expression and a way to remember the past, as well as to document the continuous, often subtle changes of everyday life. He began attending various courses, including the Exusphoto photography school and the CineTv Rossellini Institute. Today, he lives and works in Rome, where he mentors the children at the Civico Zero center. In 2017, he collaborated in the opening of two photography schools for children, one in the suburbs of Bamako, Mali, and another in Nairobi, Kenya. Thanks to the work of these workshops, the exhibition Free Shots – Africa in the Eyes of Children was realized and displayed at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.

Furthermore, in 2015, Mohamed won the prize for young / old photographer PhC, presented to him by Czech photographer Josef Koudelka and Marco Delogu.
